The event was aimed at providing insights to parents on the holistic growth of a child. Latur parents appeared impressed with the presentations of the speakers.

Noted educationist and editor of Navanit Publication Ms.Nivedita Gupta, Chief Mentor of `Learning Temple’ Dr. Rajeev Singh, and Marathi theatre director Mr.Aniruddha Khutwad were the experts who delivered lectures on various aspects of parenting.

Ms. Nivedita Gupta presented her speech about multiple intelligence in a simplified form. She explained how the MI theory is related to Rashichakras. Rashichakra plays an important role in understanding an individual as also the theory of multiple intelligence is helpful for recognizing the strength and weakness of an individual.

Mr. Aniruddha Khutwad shared his struggle as a theatre director. Any art plays an important role, as in life, is to enable us to see the world and the human condition differently. Artists can unlock our imagination and stir us to pause, think, and reflect. Any artist is a great organizer of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, he added.

Dr. Rajeev Singh explained how every child is special and with his or her own personality. But because of the lack of stability and patience parents do not understand his or her needs. There are multiple types of intelligences in one’s brain and they need to be properly streamlined.

Delivering the vote of thanks Principal of the school, Mr. Louis Dias said, ``Goldcrest High believes that it is vital for parents to recognise that children possess a variety of intelligences. Our aim is to help make parents aware that their children’s success and happiness in life can be achieved through capitalising on the true ability that a child may have and not through forcing him into a career not suited to his particular talent”.

The Latur Pattern of Education has emerged as a standard for Secondary, Higher Secondary and University Education in Maharashtra. This technique of education has been widely adopted in other places of the state, due to its consistent and successful track record at producing excellent results.

The emphasis is on completing the course-work early in the year and then focusing on practising for the examinations. The Latur Pattern of study involves continuous and methodical practice of model question papers months before the board exams.
This methodology, however, has some limitations in that it while it provides an immediate advantage of high marks, it fails to provide the long term advantage of preparing students for advanced learning.

Many aspects of the current educational setup in Latur demand review and change. Until concrete steps are taken to reformulate our methodology of imparting education in our schools, we shall continue to underutilize, even waste our youth, and this could have serious consequences on the intellectual growth and future of Latur.

Goldcrest High, Latur – the first ever school in Latur with the ICSE programme, established under the aegis of the ‘Vilasrao Deshmukh Foundation’ is committed to eradicating backwardness in the field of education by making available to the youth quality technical, non-technical, and vocational education, thus enabling them to successfully meet new challenges in life. The school has formulated the Goldcrest High Pattern of Education with the purpose of providing a quality of education that will empower the individual to succeed in all aspects of his life.

On the eve of its Founder’s Day - 15June 2012, Goldcrest High, Latur launched its ‘Community Outreach’ programme, its most ambitious programme till date. This is a social connect initiative, indigenously conceptualized and led by the school’s enthusiastic students, parents and teachers. The ‘Community Outreach’ programme is designed to comprise various exciting events like street plays, social messaging campaigns, seminar, conferences, workshops, etc in order to educate, enlighten and impress upon the people of Latur the need to rediscover themselves to face the dynamic challenges posed by a global community.

To conclude, we would like to remind you of the theory of evolution, which states that whenever members of a species fail to modify their reaction in response to the variation in the stimuli, that species is set on the way to extinction. The Goldcrest High Pattern of Education will ensure that such a fate will not befall the community in Latur.

Investment of Foreign Universities is an opportunity for the Indians.
- Mr. Frank Braccia

As per the new education policy, Indian Government has opened its doors to foreign universities. The renowned universities in the countries like England, Australia and United States will be soon opening their campuses in India.

This seems to be an opportunity for the Indians, said Mr. Frank Braccia, an American Educationists in his interview to Divya Marathi.

Mr. Frank Braccia is an educational advisor of Goldcrest High, an ISCE school in Latur. During his recent visit to Goldcrest High, Mr. Braccia was speaking on various aspects of education in his special interview.

Under British rule, the majority of Indian Students went to foreign universities for higher education. After independence, India accepted globalization and opened its doors in various sectors for the investment. Education sector has a big scope in Indian market and now the foreign universities are opening their campuses in India. This is a big opportunity for the Indians, said Mr. Braccia.

Lord Mekale’s education system is still accused by educationists but it is also true that its because of his education system Indians were aware about administrative laws and the ideas of independence. Most of the Indian freedom fighters graduated in England and they started their `freedom struggle’ from England. It is because of `English’ laws that Indians thrown out the British rulers, Mr. Braccia added.

(If the foreign universities opened their campuses in India, there should be at least 10 to 15% reservations for the economically poor peoples. India has the second largest English speaking population. Though Hindi is the national language but English is the official working language of India, this is truly commendable.)
